Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers understand the geography of regions: how land, settlements, connections, boundaries or place names shape the way places relate to one another.
What to pitch
Send a concise proposal built around one clear question or idea. Tell us the intended reader, the main point you would explain and why the subject suits Prime Regional Journal. A strong pitch has a distinct angle, stays within a manageable scope and can be useful without relying on statistics, private information or unverified claims.
Writing expectations
We look for accurate, plain-language work with a clear structure and careful treatment of uncertainty. Explain specialist terms, distinguish established facts from interpretation and avoid padding a piece with repeated points. Do not submit work that depends on professional advice or on rules that vary by local authority.
How to send a proposal
Use the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short summary and a few lines about your relevant approach to the topic. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may suggest a different scope.
A region is more than a line on a map.
Its character comes from the land, the places people build and the connections between them. We look closely at those parts, without treating any one map as the whole story.
